So Close…

It’s getting so exciting around here.

Painting is almost complete.
Baseboards are being put down.
Floors are being finished.
Ceilings are going up.

PHASE ONE is really coming together.

We’re making the final push to complete phase one and will be working tonight at 5:30pm to get as much done as possible.

If you have a couple of hours, join in. It’s always a great time and we’ll get it done together.

Here are a few things we will be working on:

  • Installing the final KidsLife Door.
  • Installing the remaining baseboard molding
  • Painting the remaining hallway floor and edges of the rooms
  • Installing the drop ceiling in the bathroom hallway
  • Installing the TV mounts
  • Organizing the new storage rooms
  • Installing Molding on the remaining Door

As you can tell, many of these items are small and doable. Let’s do it!

First Seven Days of the 21 Day Challenge

For the FIRST SEVEN days of the 21 Day Challenge we are reading Psalms 1 – 57. You can do it. However, just like we discussed Sunday, be careful not to make it all about completing a task. It’s about washing and renewing your mind with the Word of God.

When reading this week, try to get the most out of what you read from God’s Word by applying the SOAP method…

S – Scripture…write down one verse that “jumps out” and speaks to you. You may want to begin by choosing a particular book in the Bible to read through or maybe a certain topic. Structure helps keep us on track, but a little randomness now and then doesn’t hurt either. 🙂

O – Observations…jot down some notes on what God shows you through the Scripture. God’s Word is living and active…it’s never stagnant. Listen and pay attention to what the LORD wants to show you.

A – Application…make note of some ways you can apply what the Holy Spirit is showing you. Remember…we’re to be doers of the Word not just hearers. What are some practical ways you can incorporate the truth of Scripture into your life.

P – Prayer…take time to pray, asking God to help you carry out His will. Pray for others and how God wants to use you in so many ways! Thank God for speaking to you, for giving you His Word, for teaching you by His Spirit, etc.! Praise Him for being real and active in your life!

”Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:12-13

Happy Reading!

Beginning Sunday January 4, through January 24, we will kick off the year focusing on the Spirit with scripture reading, the Soul with prayer & fasting and the body with exercise.

RLC | NEWS: Happy New Year

Hello everyone and Happy New Year… almost.

What a great time we had yesterday at RLC! I always love this time of the year. Such a feeling of possibility in the air. People are willing to strike out and try new things, stop old habits, and take risks. Something about the approach of the New Year gives us a hope for something new in our lives doesn’t it?

Yesterday, we talked about how small things can actually make a huge difference in your life in 2015. To view or listen to yesterday’s message, click here –>Click here to listen or watch now.
You can also view the message handout notes from there as well.

At the end of the worship experience, we talked about creating a sense of focus in your life this year by narrowing your pursuits to ONE THING. One word that would dominate all your forward momentum. Some ideas were to use words like, momentum, discipline, forgiveness, simplicity, courage, prayer, etc.

You should try it. Let everything you do be summed up in ONE WORD for this year. Check out the message for more details.

We even challenged you to take it to a WHOLE OTHER LEVEL. Instead of making it a secret focus, post about it online. You could post it on the RLC FACEBOOK PAGE, the RLC TWITTER ACCOUNT, or on this blog post. Wherever, make it public. You’ll find that this simple act of accountability will encourage you to stick with it.

ALSO, this coming Sunday begins our annual 21 DAY CHALLENGE and SUPER CHALLENGE. At the beginning of every year we take 21 days and renew our focus on God in three major areas of our lives… MIND | BODY | SOUL. We will updating the church website and posting about it here during the next couple of days. Check back soon.

Hope everyone has a safe week. Look forward to seeing you all the coming weekend at RLC.
